The sidewalk sale at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts was ranked the second best on the list of 200 Best Fine Art and Design Shows in America, up from a ranking of third for the past two years.
The poll, published in the September 2012 issue of Sunshine Artist, is based on sale totals reported by exhibitors at the 2011 festival. Sunshine Artist is a magazine that serves as an arts festival and show guide.
The top show is the St. James Court Art Show in Louisville, Ky.
Arts Fest Executive Director Rick Bryant said he’s “thrilled” to be ranked “among the best,” especially based on exhibitor nominations.
“This is the highest ranking we’ve ever earned, and we’re the highest ranking show that’s not located in, or very near, a large city,” he said in a news release Friday. “Both browsers and collectors know that the arts festival is a great place to come to shop for fine art and fine craft, hear some wonderful music, and have a great time.”
