Schlow Centre Region Library will host a celebration of Curiosity’s adventure that will give local residents the opportunity to learn about Mars, participate in educational games and interact with scientists who have been involved with past and current rover missions.
The Mars Rover Landing Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Downsbrough Community Room at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St., State College.
Planetary scientist Chase Million, who worked on Spirit and Opportunity, as well as members of Penn State’s astronomy department will be on hand to answer questions. Melissa Rice, who is currently working on Curiosity, will do a live video chat from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.
