UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State junior Ellen Ceresko captured the Pennsylvania State Amateur Championship on Friday afternoon.
Ceresko competed against talented players, including Ohio State's Rachel Rohanna, who she defeated 2 and 1 in the match play tournament. She ended the tournament by defeating Princeton's Kate Scarpetta , winning after 21 holes to capture the title.
Ceresko had a tremendous freshman campaign, accumulating the second-best average on the team of players who participated in more than 20 rounds with a 78.3.
