Penn State field hockey team fall 3-2 in exhibition

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Penn State field hockey team fell 3-2 to the U.S. Under- 21 National squad in a preseason exhibition game on Friday.

Senior Kelsey Amy and junior Annie Abdo each scored for the Nittany Lions in the fast-paced match.

Abdo's goal gave the Nittany Lions a quick 1-0 lead before the national team scored twice minutes later for the lead. Amy rallied Penn State to a late 2-2 tie, as the U.S. team finally gained momentum with a goal with eight minutes remaining for the win.

In addition to the exhibition, Penn State defeated the national squad in a shootout competition, 3-1.

Penn State will play the final exhibition game of the preseason at noon today against James Madison.
