AGING Q&A: Volunteers needed for senior center programs

Published: August 30, 2012

Q: Do you know how to Skype? Sell items on Ebay? Download an app on your Apple? Do you like to spend time with others?

A: If so, please consider volunteering your time with our Centre County Senior Centers. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Q: How do I get in touch with a senior center to volunteer , or to take a tech class?

A: The six senior community centers are as follows:

• Bellefonte: 355-6720, bellecenter1@gmail.com

• Centre Hall: 364-9511, chcenter@iqnetsys.net

• Penns Valley: 349-8188, pvcenter@getwireless.net

• Philipsburg: 342-6549, pburgcenter@comcast.net

• Snow Shoe: 355-6720, bellecenter1@gmail.com

• Centre Region: 231-3076, vshawley@crcog. net .

Currently, the Centre County Senior Center Coalition (fundraising to help offset the costs of the Centre County Senior Centers) is having a car raffle. This raffle will help fund new technology classes at all six of our senior centers. The car is a 2012 Nissan Versa SV. Tickets cost $20 each with only 2,500 tickets being sold.

Q: Where can I purchase raffle tickets?

A: Raffle tickets are available at the Emporium at Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair today.

Visit the Centre County Office of Aging table and meet our CCSCC board members. Board members will continue to sell tickets after the fair.
