CHICAGO — Penn State sophomore Micha Hancock was named the Big Ten Player and Setter of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Hancock guided Penn State to wins over No. 9 Stanford and No. 2 Texas to win the Rockvale Outlets Nike Big Four Volleyball Classic over the weekend. She earned a spot on the all-tournament team with her performance.
For the weekend, Hancock averaged 10.9 assists per set and paced the Nittany Lion offense to a .242 hitting percentage. Against the Cardinal on Friday, Hancock recorded 53 assists and 23 digs. She also added three aces and four blocks. On Saturday against the Longhorns, Hancock posted 34 assists and also tallied five kills on seven errorless swings.
