UNIVERSITY PARK — Michelle Cesan scored the game-winning goal just over two minutes into overtime period as No. 4 Princeton overcame a late comeback by No. 8 Penn State for a 3-2 victory Thursday at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex.
The Nittany Lions (3-2) had forced overtime with Katie Andrews’ goal, on her first career shot, late in the second period.
Kelsey Amy also scored for Penn State, while Katie Reinprecht and Kathleen Sharkey netted goals for the Tigers (3-0). Princeton held a 16-12 edge in shots.
Penn State goalie Ayla Halus notched eight saves.
The Nittany Lions play at Temple on Saturday and return home Sunday against Cornell.
