— Bald Eagle Area and Philipsburg-Osceola battled to a scoreless tie in double overtime on Wednesday in a match reminiscent of its district boys’ soccer playoff that went the distance last season.

Like last time, it was a battle of goaltenders.

P-O’s Jay Prentice turned aside six BEA shots while his counterpart, BEA’s Ben Leskovansky, stopped nine Mountie scoring attempts.

“It’s developing into being a very nice competition between our schools and I think (BEA coach) Jason (Bair) would say the same thing,” P-O coach Shawn Inlow said. “We’re very friendly and the kids are playing with good spirit. It’s going to be a hard competition every time.”

P-O outshot BEA 14-7.
