BELLEFONTE — Penns Valley rallied after losing a close Game 1 to defeat the Bellefonte girls’ volleyball team 3-1 on Thursday night in Bellefonte.

Both teams stayed in the game across all four sets with scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-21 and 25-17, but Bellefonte was never able to bounce back after dropping the second set of the match.

Ashley Strubleled the Lady Rams (2-2) with nine kills and eight digs.Casey Kuhlmansmacked five aces, whileMadison Bresslerblocked five shots andTangie Lyonsadded 10 assists.

Jordan Carrhad nine kills, nine digs and eight aces to lead the Lady Red Raiders (1-2) on the night, while Alexis Wetzlerchipped in six assists and nine digs. Ciara Stehleyand Erin Thal added in three kills each.
