LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Sixth-ranked Penn State improved to 8-2 on the season Saturday by blasting Monmouth 7-1.
Kelsey Amyled the Nittany Lions with two goals and an assist, while Ashtin Klingler, Hannah Allison, Jenna Chrismer Brittany Grzywacz and Taylor Herold each added goals as Penn State led 5-1 at halftime.
Ayla Halus made five saves in the net for the Lions in more than 60 minutes of work.
Michelle Pieczynski was the lone scorer for Monmouth, which dropped to 0-8.
