State College police hand out citations during Penn State football weekend

— State College police said one person was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Sunday and numerous citations were issued Saturday night after Penn State’s home football game.

According to an unofficial count, police responded to 12 incidents of public intoxication, and cited four individuals for underage drinking, five for urinating in public, and 17 for noise violations.

Police arrested one person for DUI following a traffic stop around 2:35 a.m. Sunday on South Burrowes Street.

Police on Sunday did not have an official count of weekend incidents, but said it was “a normal football weekend.”
