STATE COLLEGE — Suzanne Horner and Christine Irwin led the way as State College swept past Red Land 25-21, 25-14, 25-22 Monday night in Mid-Penn League action.

Horner posted 15 kills and 10 assists while Irwin had 13 kills, nine digs and three aces. Kyla Irwin paced the defense with three blocks and freshman Jackie Horner gave out 17 assists as the Lady Little Lions (5-0) experimented with a two-setter offense after losing a couple key players to injuries.

“In our minds we have to have Suzanne hit the ball,” coach Chad Weight said. “We had our freshman setting and she did pretty well. We’ve been put into this position and this is what we have to do.”
