PHILIPSBURG — Mackenzie Burge’s service run keyed a first-set rally as Philipsburg-Osceola came back from a huge deficit to sweep Huntingdon 26-24, 25-17, 25-13 on Tuesday.
The Lady Mounties (11-4 overall, 3-0 Mountain League) trailed 11-2 in the first set, but thanks to the late service run by Burge closed to within 22-20 before getting even and taking the set.
“We chipped away at lead,” P-O coach Dave Eckberg said. “We came out a little nervous and Game 1 was critical for us.”
Burge led the Lady Mounties with 22 assists and six aces.
Kylie Scovern had 10 kills, while Abby Showers had 12 digs. Emily Bush-Clark and Marlee Chutko added three blocks apiece.
