UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State women's basketball coach Coquese Washington has signed a five-year contract extension through the 2017 season the university announced Wednesday.
The contract has a total compensation package worth nearly $3.5 million dollars.
Washington has a 92-67 record since taking over the program in April of 2007. Last season, she led the Lady Lions to a 26-7 record and to the Big Ten regular-season championship, while earning conference Coach of the Year honors.
The Lady Lions advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament, their deepest run since 2004.
The Lady Lions open their regular season Nov. 11 against Howard at the Bryce Jordan Center.
