Shane Dorner justified his coachs faith in him with a standout performance in his first start for Lafayette in a 20-14 victory over Bucknell Saturday. The win raised the Leopards record to 3-0.
Dorner, a sophomore from State College, had three of Lafayettes four sacks for a loss of six yards overall, had five tackles overall and one pass breakup in the win. Shane has worked extremely hard, coach Frank
Tavani said. I had all the confidence in the world that he would perform and do the job. He does a couple of things defensively that you might not notice. He plays the Sam linebacker and also anchors our defensive line and thats tough to do. He basically knows two jobs.
For the season Dorner has 10 tackles, three of them solo, four tackles for loss, four sacks for a loss of nine yards and has one pass break-up.

Colton Myers (State College, Juniata) has three catches for 74 yards.

John Crowe (State College, Lock Haven) was four places behind his brother in a time of 27:01, also a personal best. Lock Haven placed sixth among 12 teams.
Golf
Brian Charles (State College, Goshen College) posted an 84-80-164 and tied for 50th in the Spring Arbor Invitational where Goshen placed 11th of 13 teams.
