Two women suspected of trying to cash stolen checks in State College have been arrested in Kentucky, police reported Thursday.

Police said charges against them are pending but did not release their names.

Police said the women were taken into custody on Tuesday, but the nature of their arrest wasn’t known.

Earlier this month, police said they were investigating reports that two women in a maroon Cadillac SUV had tried cashing checks at local banks. Police said they also tried to use stolen driver licenses and bank cards.

The checks, licenses and cards were reported stolen from Little Buffalo State Park in Perry County, police said.
