BELLEFONTE A man was given county jail time on Friday for the strong-armed robbery of a woman and a separate DUI.
Travis Stahlman, 33, was sentenced by Judge Bradley P. Lunsford to spend a year, minus a day, for knocking down a woman and taking her work apron on Oct. 12, 2011, on Martin Street in Ferguson Township. The woman told police Stahlman was a patron at her work the night before the robbery.
Months later, Stahlman was driving on old U.S. Route 220 near Port Matilda when he crashed while swerving to avoid a farm tractor. Police found Stahlman to be driving drunk with a blood alcohol level of 0.149.
For the DUI, Lunsford gave Stahlman credit for the 101 days he has already been in jail plus 60 days in jail for driving with a suspended license.
All of the sentences are to run concurrently, according to Lunsfords order.
The arrest was Stahlmans third DUI.
