Author, entertainer and transgender advocate Chaz Bono will speak at the LGBTA Student Resource Center’s celebration of National Coming Out Week on Oct. 10 at the HUB-Robeson Center on the Penn State campus.

Bono, who last year released the book “Transition: The Story of How I Became a Man,” and appeared on “Dancing with the Stars,” is a transgender man, the offspring of Cher and the late Sonny Bono. He will be the keynote speaker at the event, which begins at 7 p.m. in the HUB Auditorium.
