Nittany Lion volleyball team sweeps Wildcats

— The Penn State women’s volleyball team kept its record perfect in the Big Ten with a 25-23, 25-18, 25-23 sweep of Northwestern on Friday night.

The No. 1 Nittany Lions (15-1, 5-0) got team-highs of 11 kills and seven blocks from Katie Slay while hitting .500.

Ariel Scott added 10 kills and eight kills came from Nia Grant. Micha Hancock handed out 37 assists and Dominique Gonzalez recorded 12 digs as Penn State hit .259 with a 10-5 advantage in blocks and 44-40 edge in kills.

Stephanie Holthus’ 12 kills led the Wildcats (12-4, 1-4), who were held to .150 hitting.

Penn State visits No. 21 Illinois tonight.
