— Penn State continues hogging Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Senior linebacker Gerald Hodges received the honor for his play in this past weekend's 39-28 victory over Northwestern.

Hodges led the Nittany Lions with 11.5 tackles, including 1.5 for losses. His play helped Penn State hold previously-undefeated Northwestern to a season-low 247 yards.

This is the third time a Penn State player has earned the award this season. Senior linebacker Michael Mauti captured the award for his play against Navy and Illinois.

Hodges has won the award three times in his career.
