The family of Philipsburg fire victim Wendy Sharpless on Tuesday started a fund for community donations.

Sharpless, 44, was severely burned last week in a fire that destroyed her home and possessions at 613 E. Pine St. Coping with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, she lived by herself. She’s now undergoing treatment at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital.

Sharpless is in stable but serious condition and will be at Mercy for at least a month before she goes to a rehabilitation center, said her sister, Patti Casher.
