Thon 5K may slow campus traffic on Saturday

The THON 5K will be held this Saturday, with more than 4,000 participants expected.

The 5K race will start in the in front of Beaver Stadium, turn South down Porter Road to Hastings Road, follow Hastings Road West across University Drive to Bigler Road, North on Bigler Road to Pollock Road, West on Pollock Road to Fraser Road, North on Fraser Road to Curtin Road, then East on Curtin Road to finish at Beaver Stadium.

From 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Curtin Road will be closed from University Drive to Porter Road. The rest of the race route will remain open, but motorists can expect delays as the racers advance through the course. University Police will be controlling the various intersections throughout the course to control traffic and maintain safe conditions for the runners.

Parking for this event will be primarily in Lot 44 and Stadium West. Parking will also be available in the East Deck and Eisenhower Deck if needed for this event.
