Letter to the editor | Seeking independence

Published: October 17, 2012

Sad to say whatever party or candidate wins this year’s presidential election, Pennsylvania’s going to lose either way.

If the current administration is re-elected, not only Pennsylvania, but the entire country will be faced with four more years of economic and financial failure.

If Mitt Romney is elected, private sector jobs and economic and financial sanity will return to Washington and the country.

The financial recovery will pass Pennsylvania by because Pennsylvania residents and businesses are still held hostage to the tyranny of an antiquated system of using ever-increasing property taxes to fund public education. Property taxes are discouraging job-creating businesses and talented graduates and individuals from locating here.

What’s the solution to Pennsylvania’s lack of jobs, public education funding and financial problems? The passage of the Property Tax Independence Act, House Bill 1776 and Senate Bill 1400, respectively.

Please go to www.ptcc.us to learn more about this fine legislation and then demand passage.
