Mens' soccer: Late goal lifts Lions over Bucknell

UNIVERSITY PARK — Marvin Ledgister’s goal with 2:47 left in regulation lifted Penn State to a 2-1 win over Bucknell on Wednesday night at Jeffrey Field.

Drew Klingenberg delivered from the left wing, with Ledgister finishing the play with a left-footed shot past Bison keeper Mike Lansing.

John Gallagher had given Penn State the lead midway through the first half with a shot from the top of the penalty box.

Collin Costello put Bucknell on the board nine minutes later on a penalty kick.

Keeper Andrew Wolverton made three saves for the win as Penn State (8-4-2, 2-1-1) outshot Bucknell 24-9.

The Nittany Lions visit Northwestern on Sunday.
