PHILIPSBURG — A couple bad bounces cost Philipsburg-Osceola the opportunity to lock up the Mountain League title, falling to Clearfield 2-1 Wednesday to close the regular season.
The Bison’s Nolan Barger tapped in two long boots from teammates for the win.
Skyler Krise cashed in on a feed from Taylor Golemboski for a goal for the Mounties (10-4-4, 10-2-2), who could have won the league title outright with a win but instead must share it with Bellefonte, which defeated Bald Eagle Area 2-1 in double overtime Wednesday.
Mitchell Winters made three saves in the P-O net.
