Girls' cross country: Alyssa Limbaugh paces local contingent

SPRING MILLS — Penns Valley’s Alyssa Limbaugh led all Centre County runners with a second-place finish at the Mountain League Cross Country Championship on Wednesday.

Clearfield took the team title with 41 points, well ahead of second-place Penns Valley (73). Tyrone (80), Bellefonte (94) Philipsburg-Osceola(96) and Central (104) followed.

Limbaugh finished in 20 minutes, 42 seconds over the 3.1-mile Penns Valley layout, trailing winner Jordan Wiser of Tyrone, who ran 20:23.

Bellefonte’s Alexis Franks (fifth, 22:09), Penns Valley’s Emma Federinko (seventh, 22:15), Bellefonte’s Anya Hoaglund (eighth, 22:31) and Philipsburg-Osceola’s Tesha Harned (ninth, 22:27) also finished in the Top 10.
