Women’s hockey: Nittany Lions end skid

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Penn State snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-1 romp against Sacred Heart on Saturday.

Taylor Gross, Shannon Yoxheimer, Jeanette Bateman, Jess Desorcie, Hannah Hoenshell and Jordin Pardoski scored for the Nittany Lions (2-4).

Penn State outshot the Pioneers 38-26. Goaltender Nicole Paniccia had 25 saves. The Nittany Lions went 3-for-5 on the power play.

Penn State plays host to the Rochester Institute of Technology at 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Greenberg Ice Pavilion. All home games are free.
