Women's hockey: RIT hammers Penn State 4-1

UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State women's hockey lost to Rochester Institute of Technology 4-1 on Thursday night at Greenberg Ice Pavilion.

Freshman Shannon Yoxheimer scored a power-play goal for Penn State's only goal. It was her team-leading fifth tally of the season.

RIT (4-3-0, 1-2-0 CHA) went 2-for-8 on the power play and added a shorthanded goal. Katie Hubert tallied two goals, while Erin Zach had a goal and an assist. Penn State's Nicole Paniccia made 34 saves in the loss.

Penn State and RIT return to the Greeenberg Pavilion ice tonight.
