Letter to the editor | A fine representative

Published: October 31, 2012

We all reach a point in an election year at which all of the politicking and campaigning brings us to a personal breaking point.

We have great hopes that the candidates with whom we most closely align will get elected and fight a good fight for us.

Sometimes you find the rare opportunity to truly believe in candidates not for what they promise or say but for what they do and the impact they have made in your life and community.

We have such a public servant in incumbent state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff.

Candidates come and go, but we can truly say that we have one of us representing our central Pennsylvania interests in Harrisburg.

Benninghoff is well respected because he’s always available to listen and work on behalf of all of his constituents, no matter what their party affiliation. He is known to be a hard worker in Harrisburg and even when it comes to rolling up his sleeves to work alongside friends and neighbors.

As a father of five, he understands the challenges and the costs associated with raising a family, including paying for education. As a legislator, Benninghoff is always working toward common-sense solutions to statewide issues, puts great effort into lowering property taxes and is proactively working on bringing more jobs to Pennsylvania through his Promoting Employment Across Pennsylvania Act.

We are blessed to have someone who represents the needs and interests of our area and its people.
