PARK RIDGE, Ill. The regular season schedule closed with Penn State finishing with a share of the Big Ten title with Northwestern.
The Nittany Lions and Wildcats finished with matching 3-1-2 conference records, with Penn State earning the top seed for this weeks conference tournament thanks to an overtime win over Northwestern.
Earning the top seed gives the Lions a first-round bye for the tournament, which begins Wednesday. Penn State will play Friday against the winner of the Indiana-Michigan State matchup.
With the teams finish, it gives Penn State its third regular-season conference title of the fall, to go with womens soccer and field hockey crowns. The womens volleyball team also sits in first place with six matches left in the regular season.
