Keep life in perspective.
Some events are exciting and enjoyable, yet arent life and death.
With that in mind, for a bit of entertainment I enjoyed watching the last 40 minutes of the Penn State football game. I like sports a lot. It doesnt drive my life, though friends and family may disagree! Sports are a wonderful diversion.
I put in a legit 5-hour work day Saturday and then watched the second half. It was awesome to see young men work hard, work together and achieve. What resolve for the Penn State football team and its coaching staff to rebound after a loss to the talented (as always) Ohio State team.
I dont know for certain, and Im unwilling to be a fact-checker. My instincts tell me that Penn State rarely does well after a loss to Ohio State.
This past year has been indefinable for many in Centre County. I am delighted that some young men have risen to their standards and their dreams. I would be proud to be a father, son or brother to these individuals who have been punished for the wrongs of others.
I dont know what punishments should be assessed to a university for its lack of good judgment (to put their errors quite mildly, directly or indirectly, the university made egregious errors).
Unmistakably, though, for me it was awesome to watch the hometown team do well while the heating pad calmed my sore shoulder.
