The judge presiding over former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary’s whistleblower lawsuit against the university has rescheduled a court hearing over staying the case for Nov. 16.

Penn State asked the judge to put a hold on the case until criminal cases against university leaders are finished, but McQueary’s attorney objected to a stay.

Attorneys will give oral arguments at 11 a.m. in courtroom No. 2 of the Centre County Courthouse.

McQueary is suing Penn State for millions of dollars, accusing the university of defaming him and making him a scapegoat. In his suit, McQueary said he cannot earn a living being a football coach.

The hearing was previously scheduled for earlier this month, but it was delayed because of Hurricane Sandy.

Nov. 16 is the same day Penn State’s board of trustees is scheduled to have a meeting.
