Recap: Coll of Charleston vs. St Johns

D'Angelo Harrison scored 21 points to lead the St. John's Red Storm to a 64-53 victory over the Charleston Cougars at TD Arena.

Despite shooting 1-of-7 from beyond the arc, Harrison led St. John's (2-0) in scoring. Amir Garrett added 11 points and Phil Greene IV contributed 10 more. JaKarr Sampson recorded eight points while pulling down 10 rebounds in the Red Storm victory.

Only two players scored in double-figures for the Cougars (1-1). Nori Johnson tallied 11 points and Trent Wideman scored 10. Anthony Thomas grabbed 11 rebounds to go with his seven points in the loss.

The Red Storm outscored the Cougars 36-26 in the first half, as Charleston shot 32.3 percent from the field.

In the second half St. John's outscored Charleston 28-27 despite allowing the Cougar bench to supply 15 points.

Although the Red Storm shot 2-of-10 from three-point range, but benefited from 14 Charleston turnovers which it turned into 20 points.
