3 people injured in crash on Route 64 in Walker Township

Three people were injured in a serious accident Tuesday evening along state Route 64 at Jacobs Road in Walker Township, state police at Rockview reported.

According to state police, a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Ralph J. Naranjo, 68, of Annapolis, Md., was heading west on Jacobs Road when it entered the path of a 2006 Honda CRV going northbound on Route 64. The Jetta was struck on the driver’s side and both vehicles came to rest off the side of the road.

Naranjo’s injuries were serious, and he was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. His passenger, Lenore Naranjo, 68, also of Annapolis, was also seriously injured and flown to Altoona Hospital. The injuries to the CRV’s driver, Elizabeth McKinley, 59, of Howard, were deemed moderate. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

State police indicated that the investigation was continuing and that charges were pending.
