Your Letters | Not forgotten

Penn State board of trustees President Karen Peetz recently said that by the time a new president begins working at Penn State in 2014, the Jerry Sandusky scandal “will be just a distant memory.”

This is the most moronic statement among many moronic statements Peetz has made in the past year.

Kent State and Virginia Tech are both fine universities. If someone mentions Kent State, what is the first thing that comes to mind? National Guardsmen shooting students, of course.

Virginia Tech? A rampage by a deranged killer.

The truth is that it will take decades for Penn State to recover from the Sandusky scandal.

Through a series of bad decisions, Peetz has proved that she is not the person to lead the recovery effort.

Her “distant memory” statement illustrates how clueless she truly is.

Peetz should resign from the board of trustees. Penn State can’t afford her poor leadership any longer.
