Your Letters | It’s just not fair

Published: November 29, 2012

I cheered for Penn State and I admired Joe Paterno over the years and I wouldn’t consider myself a Penn State fanatic.

But I must say that Paterno and Penn State football got a raw deal.

I think the people of State College and Penn State supporters should demand to have Paterno’s statue placed in the center of town.

If the powers that be refuse, start a fund to have a new statue cast and erected. I’ll donate the first $1.

Where would Penn State be without Paterno? It still boggles my mind to think how fast the powers that be and the media stoned Paterno.

Why don’t the students and Paterno supporters have a JVP Day in State College and make it an annual event?

It would help the community economically and the legacy of Paterno. And if university officials are done licking their chops, they can join in.
