Woman hurt in fall from State College window

A 19-year-old woman fell eight or nine feet from a State College window early Saturday morning suffering multiple lacerations, State College Police said.

The fall occurred at 12:06 a.m. at the 329 E. Prospect Ave. residence and early reports indicate no “sinister action,” police said. Police list alcohol as the “primary factor,” describing the woman as “very intoxicated.” She was taken by ambulance to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. Police would not release her name.

Though police don’t think at this time that she was pushed, she said she thought she was pushed. Police received a search warrant for the property and said it is still unclear how she fell.

There was no party taking place at the residence, and police believe she was already drunk upon arriving.

The matter remains under investigation including where she was drinking prior to arriving at the house, police said.

This is the second recent fall by a 19-year-old female from a window in State College.

Penn State cheerleader Paige Raque fell 39 feet from a Calder Commons window on Oct. 13 suffering a broken pelvis, broken ribs and serious head injuries.

Police have still yet to release details about the fall and are investigating the cause of the incident.

Raque returned to her home state of Kentucky last month after a several-week stay at the Altoona Regional Health System.
