— Flames leveled an office building Monday in Poe Valley State Park.

Park rangers discovered fire erupting from the building. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, the remote structure had burned to the ground.

Rangers said the building was used as an office for camp site rentals and for storage. It was not occupied when the fire began, and no one was injured. Another storage building on site was not damaged.

Firefighters pumped water from a nearby lake to battle the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Poe Valley State Park in the Bald Eagle State Forest is made up of 620 acres in Penn Township.
