Man stabbed in fight in State College hotel room

One man is recovering from a stab wound and another is facing a felony assault charge after a fight between South Carolina men early Monday at the Autoport restaurant and hotel in State College.

State police police said William Dixon, 22, of Marion, S.C., stabbed another man in the shoulder during a fight in a hotel room around 12:31 a.m.. Both men are construction workers in the area for a job.

Police said the man who was stabbed was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to recover.

Dixon was charged with aggravated assault, a felony, and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, both misdemeanors. He was placed in Centre County Correctional Facility after failing to post $5,000 bail, according to court documents.
