— Penn State's Bill O'Brien has been selected as one of three finalists for the Maxwell Club Coach of the Year Award.

The award will be presented during the organization's awards gala March 1 in Atlantic City. The Nittany Lions' seniors will also be honored at the event.

Notre Dame's Brian Kelly and Kansas State's Bill Snyder are the other finalists for the coaching award.

O'Brien was selected as a finalist for Eddie Robinson and Liberty Mutual coach of the year awards earlier this week. He was named consensus Big Ten Coach of the Year last week.

Penn State went 8-4 in its first season under O'Brien despite major NCAA sanctions.
