Recap: Eastern Wash vs. Idaho

Mansa Habeeb hit a jump shot with 21 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Idaho Vandals to an 81-79 victory over the Eastern Washington Eagles at Reese Court.

Stephen Madison (29 points, 10 rebounds) and Kyle Barone (20 points, 11 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles for Idaho (3-4). Connor Hill and Habeeb each added 10 points.

Justin Crosgile scored 26 points to pace Eastern Washington (2-6). Venky Jois had a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double, Thomas Reuter added 11 points and Martin Seiferth tacked on 10 more.

Despite shooting just 37.5 percent in the first half, Eastern Washington held a 34-33 lead at the break by outscoring Idaho 15-6 from 3-point range. Idaho turned in a 43.8 percent shooting effort in the first half.

Idaho led 67-62 with less than three minutes remaining but a layup by Jois and a 3-pointer from Crosgile tied the game 67-67 with 1:32 left. On the last possession Idaho collected four offensive rebounds but also missed four shots to send the game to overtime.

The Vandals hit on 6-of-8 shots in overtime but still found itself tied 79-79 before Habeeb's game-winner. Crosgile got a shot off from 3-point range on the next possession but it was off the mark.

The game featured eight ties and 22 lead changes.
