CANTON, N.Y. — Jill Holdcroft scored the lone Penn State goal in a 3-1 loss to St. Lawrence on Friday night.
The Nittany Lions (5-11-1, 1-8-1 CHA) and Saints (9-7-1, 6-2 ECAC) were knotted at 1-1 through two periods before Kelly Sabatine scored with just over 12 minutes left and Kayla Raniwsky added an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Jenna Marks had the first goal of the game early in the second period.
Holdcroft, a State College product, found the net in the final minute of the second period, knocking home a rebound of a Shannon Yoxheimer shot on a power-play opportunity.
St. Lawrence outshot Penn State 48-16, with Celine Whitlinger making 45 saves.
