Penn State’s Jordan Hill will appear in one of college football’s top scouting showcases.
The defensive tackle has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl. The annual game is Jan. 26 in Mobile, Ala. and will be shown live on the NFL Network.
One of the big keys to the Nittany Lions’ 2012 success, Hill started all 12 games and led the defensive line with 64 tackles. The total ranked third among Big Ten defensive linemen.
Hill was a first-team All-Big Ten selection. He earned conference player of the week honors twice in 2012.
He will be Penn State’s 19th Senior Bowl participant the past nine years. Defensive lineman Jack Crawford, cornerback D’Anton Lynn and offensive lineman Johnnie Troutman appeared in last year’s game. Hill will join Anthony Adams, Michael Haynes, Tamba Hali, Jared Odrick and Crawford as the sixth Penn State defensive lineman to appear in the game in the last 10 years.
So far, Hill is Penn State’s lone entry in the 2013 game.
Eighty-two players who appeared in last year’s game were selected in the NFL Draft. The total includes eight first-round picks.
