Melinda Hennebergers investigation of high crimes and misdemeanors at Notre Dame (CDT, Thursday) appears to be at least as credible as Louis Freehs fatally flawed inquiry into the Sandusky scandal, which Mark Emmert declared as he rushed to judgment to be more complete than an NCAA investigation would have been.
The South Bend, Ind., universitys governance and cover-up attempt are arguably more egregious than Penn States.
Furthermore, in the Notre Dame case, the crimes actually involved the football team and program.
So I would ask Emmert, Why the dilatory approach to this case? Why are the Irish going to a bowl this season?
