Penn State freshman goalie Celine Whitlinger was named College Hockey America Rookie of the Week.

Whitlinger had 45 saves as Penn State fell 3-1 against St. Lawrence, a NCAA Tournament qualifier last season. She yielded just two goals before St. Laurence scored on a late empty-netter.

On the season, Whitlinger has 71 saves and has allowed just three goals ( a .959 save percentage).
