— A quartet of Penn State women’s volleyball players were named All-Americans on Wednesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Opposite Ariel Scott, who was the Big Ten Player of the Year, and Micha Hancock, the Big Ten’s Setter of the Year, each were named to the first team of the AVCA list. Meanwhile, middle hitter Katie Slay was named to the second team and outside hitter Deja McClendon made the third-team list, announced in her hometown of Louisville, the site of the NCAA Championships.

McClendon picked up All-American honors for the third time in her career while it is the second each for Scott and Slay and first for Hancock.

The top-seeded Nittany Lions will face Oregon at approximately 9 p.m. Thursday in the NCAA semifinals. Michigan and Texas meet in the first match at 7 p.m.
