The other day, I noticed that the U.S. Postal Service had issued a stamp honoring O. Henry.
When I commented about him and how great his short stores are, the person to whom I was speaking knew nothing about him.
O. Henry wan an author in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His short stories are known for their wit, wordplay, warm characterization and clever twist endings.
His The Gift of the Maji is a wonderful story of love and unselfishness that is most inspiring in this Christmas season. I recommend this and his other stories.
Check the library or bookstore or Google it.
