Published: December 15, 2012

HARRISBURG — Sisters Calee and Michaela Gelbaugh combined for 41 points as CD East rallied to hand State College its first loss of the season with a 65-49 win on Friday.

The Lady Little Lions actually led 17-7 after one quarter, but CD East rallied to tie it at the half and outscored State College 22-8 in the third quarter to take control.

“We came out did a really nice job,” State College coach Bethany Irwin said of the first quarter. “We were in the passing lanes and executed on offense. Then we kind of fall apart.”

Kyla Irwin scored a career-high 27 points to pace the Lady Little Lions (2-1). Calee Gelbaugh had 22 and Michaela Gelbaugh added 19 for the winners.
