WINGATE — The unbeaten Bald Eagle Area girls basketball team continued its hot start, pulling away from previously undefeated Juniata for a 52-35 victory Saturday.
It was a great team win, said Lady Eagle coach Troy Butterworth, whose team outscored Juniata 27-17 over the final two quarters. Everyone contributed. It was our best game by far.
Marissa Ward led BEA (4-0) with 22 points. Alli Simpson and Kaitlyn Miller added 10 each. Butterworth lauded Lexi Josefiks oustanding play on defense.
Victoria Varner paced the Lady Indians (3-1) with 12 points.
