A pair of wins by Mitchell Port helped the Edinboro wrestling team sweep a pair of dual meets over the weekend.
Port, a Bellefonte graduate and 141- pounder for the Scots, picked up a 10-4 decision as No. 20 Edinboro knocked off No. 10 Northwestern 22-15. He later added an 11-1 major decision as the Scots downed Clarion 28-12.
Port, who was ranked No. 5 in the nation at his weight last week, is now 12-1 while Edinboro is off to a 3-1 start.
Steve Bosak (State College, Cornell) made his 2012-13 debut with a pair of wins at 184 pounds against Oklahoma State and Missouri at the Grapple at the Garden event in New York’s Madison Square Garden. Bosak is the captain of the Big Red, who lost to the Cowboys 21-16 and the Tigers 21-15.
Scott Bosak (State College, Cornell) is 10-5 at 149 pounds.
Leo Wortman (Bellefonte, Stevens Tech) is 6-4 at 149 pounds for the Ducks.
Tyann McDaniel (Bellefonte, Misericordia) has 18 rebounds, 23 assists, one block, 15 steals and an 8.8 points-per-game scoring average. Misericordia is 5-1.
Emily Suhey (State College, Villanova) has six rebounds, three assists, one steal and has scored nine points for the Wildcats, who are 8-1.
Brian Scholly (State College, Juniata) has a 14.9 scoring average. He is also averaging 1.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. Juniata is 8-2.
Kate McDonald (State College, Juniata) averages 16.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.2 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. Juniata is 6-2.
Liz Wortman (Bellefonte, Juniata) averages 0.8 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.
Mitch Moyer (BEA, PSU-Altoona) has 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and has a 4.8 scoring average. Altoona is 4-4.
Alidia Strouse (State College, PSU-Altoona) has 69 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, 17 steals and a 9.2 scoring average. Altoona is 0-10.
Pat St. Andrews (State College, PSU-Erie) has a 4.8 scoring average. He also averages 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.1 blocks and 2.1 rebounds. Behrend is 5-3.
Brittany Butterworth (BEA, Pitt-Greensburg) has a 6.3 scoring average, 22 assists, 28 rebounds and 16 steals. Greensburg is 5-4.
